"A whale of a tale".......those of us who made the effort to read it and finish it, loved it. An immense read ( 3 books in one) and full of wonderful images. Where is Peter Jackson? He would make a great movie of it! Waikanae 002Moby Dick turned out to be a great success - despite initial trepidation. We had a most interesting discussion... Hamilton 007
The women in our group weren't interested, while the men all at least attempted it. Everyone who read (some of it) found some very interesting sections. Auckland 057
This was not a popular book and most did not finish it, but the person who chose it brought along material on the history of whaling in NZ - so we did have an interesting meeting. Raumati 005
Our first reaction was to be unimpressed, but a great discussion developed about the book in general - whaling and stations known around NZ, tattooed heads, and things learnt about voyages at that time. Taupo 004
