In 2016, when a friend mentioned she
was attending a BDS book club, Liz promptly invited herself along! She has a
wonderful time meeting with her BDS group enjoying a lot of laughs, a few too
many snacks, and a selection of fascinating books she would otherwise not have
read.
Hailing from Sydney, Liz has lived in Christchurch for 15 years and calls
New Zealand home. As a child, Liz used to volunteer as school lunch-time
library monitor because covering books was a good excuse to stay inside in the
air conditioning. Liz joined the BDS team in May 2024. She is always up for a
chat and is on hand to answer your queries and say hello when you pop in.
Poignant auto-biographies are Liz’s favourite literary genre, but she enjoys a
wide variety of books including historical fiction, classics, dystopia and
anything by a quirky Swede.
Some of Liz’s favourites from the
BDS catalogue include: The Glass Castle, The Kite Runner, The Paris Library, Station Eleven, The One Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window, and Beartown.
