A lot of discussion. Well-written, easy to read and understand. The effect of mental health issues on family relationships and the development of children is presented to readers. Surrogacy became complex in this story - Maggie thought she had control but science and life are not always as expected.

This is the perfect book for a book discussion group - many and varied opinions. So many avenues to explore. Interestingly though, the writing style and the depth of the characters ( or lack thereof) were scored poorly by the members.

We all thoroughly enjoyed this book, very thought provoking, with discussion lasting well over an hour. Best Book of the Year!

Great subject, with N.Z. looking at these laws at the moment. One dimensional characters however, not 'fleshed out' enough, and the language didn't change between characters.
