Comments from Groups
An interesting read. One of the classics, but language and writing style can be difficult to read, causing confusion. Waikanae 008 Opinions varied. Most didn't enjoy it very much - two thought it was superb! All marvelled at Conrad's descriptive powers, but some said, "Not enough action". Discussion went well. Whitby 003 Not easy but worth reading. Thames 002 Most members of our group struggled with this book, however some recognised it for the great book it is, and enjoyed the wonderful prose, and appreciated the powerful message that Conrad wished to convey. We felt it was a book that needed to be studied and read numerous times to be fully understood. Wellington 141 This wasn't for everyone! Quite a difficult read but appreciated by the more 'intellectual' members in the group! Auckland 172
