We liked the journey that the author took us on with Bea, and how she gained insights into her mum, and came to better understand her - and we found the expressions of love very moving.

We began this book expecting a 'devastatingly good mystery novel'. Although we quite enjoyed the book, we felt there were too many storylines, and perhaps too many diverse characters. However the notes led to animated discussions of sibling rivalry, and the ethics of gene therapy. So we would suggest this book is an 'interesting' read, perhaps more for the subject matter than the quality of the writing.
